Patricia Ferguson launches Asda's 'Community Life' initiative in Maryhill
The store has appointed a Community Life Champion and the initiative will focus on a different topic each quarter of the year including health, the environment, young people and living and working the in the local community.
The Maryhill store has also opened up a dedicated space for organisation to use at no cost to local groups. The facility will provide a meeting space for not-for-profit organisations such as schools, residents groups and community organisations.
Speaking after the launch Patricia Ferguson said:
"I am pleased to be involved in the launch of Asda’s ‘Community Life’ initiative in Maryhill. It is good to see the store giving this commitment to play an active role in supporting the local community – working with local groups and organisations to help make the area better for everyone involved in the store – staff and shoppers alike.
"A key part of the initiative is the opportunity for shoppers to nominate a local cause they would like to see supported. I hope that everyone will get behind the initiative and help Asda to help our local community."
